Our rising stars are the leads of tomorrow, those who, despite as limited time in our industry have shown exceptional potential leadership skills.

Rising Stars have engaged with peers at a level beyond their years and delivered excellence.

​Our rising stars are truly trailblazers who challenge established thinking and who really push the boundaries of what can be achieved to make our workplace a safer, healthier and better place for those we put to work every day.

The Rising Stars Awards come at a time of when our industry needs to show that we truly value the up and coming talent, recognising those who truly strive to become the leaders of the future.

At a time when our sector is facing challenges around an ageing workforce we truly believe now is the time to showcase the transportation sector as a career of choice for individuals by showing that as an industry we recognise and celebrate our up and coming talent.

Our rising stars should have only been within the industry for under three years and be real trailblazers within their organisation, individuals who show the potential to be leaders of the future.

This could be...

Apprentice

An individual who has entered our sector as an apprentice, yet developed their own skills beyond the remit of their original appointment. This individual may or may not have progressed from their original role but will have been earmarked as a leader of the future through showing considerable leadership on a specific project or task or indeed just by performing over and above in their daily role. The only criteria we will judge the individual against is the fact that they must have been in the transportation and civil engineering sector for under three years.

Graduate

An individual who has entered our sector as a graduate, yet developed their own skills beyond the remit of their original appointment. This individual may or may not have progressed from their original role but will have been earmarked as a leader of the future through showing considerable leadership on a specific project or task or indeed just by performing over and above in their daily role. The only criteria we will judge the individual against is the fact that they must have been in the transportation and civil engineering sector for under three years.

Agile Careers

An individual who has entered our sector as in later life, yet developed their own skills beyond the remit of their original appointment. This individual may or may not have progressed from their original role but will have been earmarked as a leader of the future through showing considerable leadership on a specific project or task or indeed just by performing over and above in their daily role. The only criteria we will judge the individual against is the fact that they must have been in the transportation and civil engineering sector for under three years.

Each of the finalists will be awarded a Rising Stars Award and will make up the junior leadership team for the Rising Stars Programme going forward.
